PEM presents the virtual premiere of New Addresses: An Ode to Breath, an original art-performance short film inspired by the embodiment of breath and the physical space of the museum. Experience three of PEM’s installations in a new light: Anila Quayyum Agha’s All the Flowers Are For Me, Wes Sam-Bruce’s Where the Questions Live: An Exploration in Human Nature and Zarah Hussain’s Breath.

The film is a response to Zarah Hussain’s exhibition and uses music, dance, and film to emulate the everyday yet profound experience of breathing. Featuring music by composers Christopher Cerrone, Gala Flagello, and Carlos Simon performed by the Boston-based ensemble Hub New Music, with dance and choreography by Laura Kathrein, and filmed by Jamtron Media.

Check out the 20-minute film on PEM's YouTube channel, then click the pop-up link to join a virtual conversation with members of Hub New Music, Laura Kathrein, Gala Flagello and Jeff Ledellaytner of Jamtron Media to hear about how this film was created. Register to receive the link in an email.
