In a time of widespread stress, chronic illness, and disconnection from our bodies, how do we rediscover our capacity to heal? Join us for a conversation with Dr. Bill Foley, an internationally recognized osteopathic physician and medical doctor, on the principles of osteopathy and the body’s innate ability to heal itself. Trained as a physician and grounded in decades of clinical practice, Dr. Foley draws on evidence-based medicine and hands-on osteopathic care to explore how whole-person approaches to health—addressing structure, movement, the nervous system, and lived experience—can support healing at both individual and public levels.

Dr. Foley will discuss how chronic stress, trauma, and modern patterns of living disrupt the body’s natural rhythms, and how osteopathic approaches help restore circulation, mobility, and self-regulation. He will also reflect on what self-healing truly means—not as self-blame or denial of care, but as an active partnership between practitioner, patient, and body.

This conversation situates osteopathy within broader questions of public health and civic life. What does it mean to build systems that support healing rather than merely manage disease? How might we rethink health as a shared responsibility—rooted in education, access, trust, and respect for the body’s wisdom?

By connecting personal healing to collective well-being, this Forum invites us to imagine a more humane, holistic approach to health—one that recognizes healing as both a biological process and a social value.

Dr. Foley will be in conversation with Charla Jones, founder of eu2be, and an entrepreneur, creative leader, and advocate for skin and body health, whose work centers on the idea that our lived experiences are carried in our bodies – and often reflected in our skin.

Charla Jones. Charla Jones is a creative entrepreneur, arts advocate and champion for skin and body health whose work centers on the idea that our lived experiences are carried in our bodies—and often reflected in our skin. As the founder and CEO of eu2be, an award-winning skincare brand, she has created a collection of products designed to honor all bodies and skin types, rethinking how we care for the body’s largest organ. Grounded in time-honored, biomimetic carrier oils drawn from centuries of cultural skincare practices, eu2be is built on a philosophy of care rather than correction. “You-to-be” reflects Charla’s belief that beauty and health begin with respecting the skin we live in, not simply the image we present to the world. Her approach to skin and body care is deeply shaped by personal history and intergenerational knowledge. From her globe-trotting aunt Eugenia—after whom eu2be is named—to her maternal grandmother, a Midwestern entrepreneur who hosted artists such as B.B. King at her speakeasy, she draws inspiration from women who embodied care, labor, and resilience that embodies their creativity. She credits her caregivers with instilling the belief that meaningful work creates both value and beauty in the world. Before founding eu2be, Jones built a wide-ranging entrepreneurial career spanning small businesses and Fortune 500 companies. In 1998, she upstarted an independent creative marketing agency, growing it from the ground up and establishing offices in Boston and Paris. Working closely with technology and innovation-driven clients, she led business strategy, product launches, and integrated communications initiatives. Today, she is focused on illuminating the role of skin as an essential interface between the body and the world—and as an often-overlooked foundation of health and wellbeing. Based in Boston, she also serves on the boards of the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston, New York Live Arts (home to the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company), and the Boston Public Art Triennial, where her commitment to embodiment, care, and cultural expression continues to inform her work.
