Dr. Rana el Kaliouby. Dr. Rana el Kaliouby is the host of the Pioneers of AI podcast and is on a mission to humanize technology before it dehumanizes us. As the co-founder of AI startup Affectiva, with a PhD in machine learning and computer vision from Cambridge University and postdoc from MIT, she has spent over two decades as a leading innovator in AI, pioneering the field of Emotion AI. Dr. Kaliouby is a co-founder and general partner at Blue Tulip Ventures, where she invests in early stage startups building ethical AI that is good for people.
Ed Baker. Ed Baker is Chief Product Officer at WHOOP, where he leads product strategy across the company. Ed joined WHOOP in 2023 following the acquisition of his AI startup, AnyQuestion, and previously served as Chief Growth Officer before assuming his current role. Ed is a product leader, entrepreneur, and investor with more than two decades of experience building and scaling consumer technology companies. Prior to WHOOP, he founded and served as CEO of AnyQuestion. Previously, he served as Vice President of Product and Growth at Uber and Head of International Growth at Facebook. He joined Facebook through its acquisition of Friend.ly, the social platform he co-founded and grew to more than 25 million registered users. Ed has been a WHOOP board member and investor since 2019. He earned a B.A. in Chemistry and Physics, magna cum laude, from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. A lifelong endurance athlete, Ed qualified for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials and won the Ironman Lake Placid in 2018.
