This February, join us as we present the Boston premiere of My Marlene—brought for the first time ever into the immersive dome of the Charles Hayden Planetarium. Experience this acclaimed one-woman show, fresh off a successful run at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, in a groundbreaking new form, where theatre, cabaret, and full-dome visual storytelling collide.

My Marlene resurrects the magnetic, gender-fluid, bisexual icon Marlene Dietrich—Hollywood legend, anti-fascist rebel, and artistic shapeshifter. Performed by award-winning writer and actor Tjaša Ferme and directed by Ana Margineanu, the show dives into the contradictions that made Dietrich extraordinary: selfless war hero and glamorous housefrau in tuxedo tails; romantic entangled with lovers across continents; gender-fluid pioneer who wore masculinity and femininity interchangeably—and defiantly—both on and off screen.

Tjaša Ferme. Tjaša Ferme is an award-winning actor, creator and NYSCA-awarded director. She created The Female Role Model Project, blending interactive theatre with neuroscience, premiering Off-Broadway and produced at Edinburgh Fringe (NYITA nomination, Fast Company’s honorary mention at World Changing Ideas Awards), Ophelia’s Flip (Cannes FF), Cocktales and interactive solo shows Wild Child in the City and My Marlene (HERE, Edinburgh Fringe). Ferme founded Science in Theatre Festival, now in its fourth year, featured in Forbes. She received a prestigious Slovenian Film Award (Vesna), Sever and Academy’s Classic Stage Award, special mention of a jury at FF500 “She literally carries the movie”, Audience Choice Award for Wild Child in the City at TSD and the Sapphire acting award at Cinerockom.  Tjaša’s work has been called “Gender-and generation-transcending,” “Best 23 Shows of Edinburgh Fringe” and “Nothing short of brilliant”.
