Mary Stack (director@cambridgeforum.org, 617 495 2727)
Brett Finlay, PhD will discuss his research and revelations on living in an over-sanitized world. With the exponential advancements in medicine and technology, the amount of death and sickness due to bacteria has been drastically reduced. However, in light of recent research, scientists have found that we may have gone too far. By constantly holding a high standard of cleanliness, we may be harming the good bacteria in our system and impairing our natural immunity, increasing our risk of getting asthma, diabetes, etc. Dr. Brett Finlay will get down and dirty on this topic and explain his findings on how we can all be healthier and stronger in this world full of microbes.
