The cultural region of Mesoamerica was home to numerous flourishing civilizations before the Spanish conquest of the New World. In this talk we will explore the ritual practices of three early civilizations: the Olmecs, the Mayans, and the Aztecs. By tracing common views of their world, we will be able to see how each civilization built on the legacy of the other. Join guest lecturer Christine Garnier as we look closely at different ritual objects from pre-Columbian societies.
