The great Romantics of the Victorian era were enamored with tales of knights and princesses, towering Gothic churches, and unyielding castle walls. Their works were partly fictional, but also inspired by the birth of modern scholarship and appreciation for the art of the European Middle Ages. Join us on an exploration of the art of the Middle Ages and the 19th-century artists who were inspired by history. To participate, meet in the Jean S. and Frederic A. Sharf Visitor Center.
