Dan Plekhov, Graduate Student Lecturer
While the field of archaeology is relatively young, people have always been fascinated by the remains and histories of peoples and cultures that came before them. Whether for legitimacy, forging new identities, or continuing ancient traditions, artifacts from the past are often reused and referenced, often taking on new meanings in the process. Join graduate student lecturer Dan Plekhov to examine items in the Ancient World collections that show how ancient peoples utilized objects and events from their past for use in their present. To attend the gallery talk, meet in the Jean S. and Frederic A. Sharf Visitor Center.
