Cokie Roberts
Current Affairs History Politics
With a lifetime of experience in Washington politics and a deep and abiding interest in the role women have played in American history, Cokie Roberts has a singular perspective on the importance of women in shaping our country. Her books Founding Mothers and Ladies of Liberty (published in 2004 and 2008 respectively) became instant bestsellers, and her most recent work Capital Dames: The Civil War and Women of Washington (2015) commemorates the achievements and legacies of remarkable women during that wrenching period. Ms. Roberts is a political commentator for ABC News, providing analysis for all network news programming, as well as for NPR. In her more than forty years in broadcasting, she has won countless awards, including three Emmy awards. In 2008, the Library of Congress named her a living Legend.
