The JFK Library Foundation, in partnership with The Earthshot Prize, announces the winners for the Earthshot Innovation Challenge: Northeast U.S. Edition to ignite Northeast-U.S.-based innovations to address climate change. The annual award will fund solutions that promise to make meaningful positive change in one of the five Earthshots: Protect and Restore Nature; Clean Our Air; Revive Our Oceans; Build a Waste-Free World; and Fix Our Climate. In 2024, the three Earthshot Innovation Challenge finalists – Afterlife Ag, Cellsense, and it’s electric -- will receive grant funding to accelerate the development and scale of their solutions. The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, The ‘Quin Impact Fund, and the Earthshot Legacy Partners will provide $100,000 in grant funding to one first-place winner—who will be announced at the September 12th program—and $25,000 each to two finalists. The awards will be presented during a ceremony at the JFK Presidential Library on September 12, 2024 commemorating the anniversary of President Kennedy’s Moonshot speech. As part of the event, Chuck Leavell, Grammy Award-winning keyboardist for The Rolling Stones and the Allman Brothers Band, will participate in a fireside chat on his commitment to environmentalism and sustainable forestry with Dana Jacobson, co-host of CBS Saturday Morning. He will close out the program with a special musical performance for those attending in person. The Earthshot Legacy Partners is a U.S.-based partner group committed to extending the mission and values of both the JFK Library Foundation and The Earthshot Prize. The group is chaired by inaugural supporters Sandy and Paul Edgerley and also recognizes leadership contributions from Giving | Grousbeck Fazzalari and Karen and Rob Hale.
