PEM, the Phillips Library and Mass Poetry will co-host a monthly series of creative writing workshops leading up to the Mass Poetry Festival on May 14–16. Each session is led by a different poet and connects to a different PEM exhibition or collection.
The workshops are free to the public, with participation capped at 30 people. We will solicit poems from workshop participants after each event, in hopes of producing a digital anthology of the residency poems alongside photographs of the museum works that inspired them. Pre-registration required.
On April 13th, join us for a National Poetry Month erasure/black-out poetry workshop, tying into historic documents from/about Salem and themes of social justice and community building.
