Take a crash course in digital hygiene at the CryptoParty with Somerville CryptoParty and other computer privacy activists. Get the basics of good cyber-habits, have your questions answered and learn how to stay anonymous online. What threats should you worry about? Can people actually spy on you through your phones and laptops? Should you be concerned about who can read your text messages and emails? What’s the lowdown on passwords? Privacy activists will impart their wisdom, share practical tools of digital security, and help you every step of the way. Bring a laptop, tablet, or smart phone if you want to load encryption tools on your device. Go home prepared!

Advance registration begins at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25 (Monday, April 23 for Museum members) at mos.org/events.
