Irish playwright, writer, and poet Sebastian Barry is the author of nine works of fiction, three volumes of poetry and fourteen plays. His latest works include Days Without End (2016) and The Temporary Gentlemen (2014). His honors include two Costa Book of the Year awards, and his work has twice been shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize. Barry has served as an Honorary Fellow in Writing at the University of Iowa and Villanova University, and as a Writer Fellow at Trinity College, Dublin. Barry is the second-ever Laureate for Irish Fiction, serving from 2018-2021.
