The Arts

Explore the creative process from start to finish of pieces by designer Christian Restrepo in response to “Gender Bending Fashion.” Examine the garments and observe as the looks come together with live models. In this interactive session, visitors are invited to help design a piece and create their own work in response to the exhibition.

Christian Restrepo is a Boston-based American Colombian maker who graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. His work has been on display at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, and at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Restrepo creates pieces in a “slow-cooked” manner, using unusual materials that explore intimate and human emotions through an obsessive, almost ritualistic process.
